David Goodhart is a commentator and author. He is the founder of Prospect magazine, where he is Editor at Large. He is also a former director of the think tank Demos and was for twelve years a correspondent for the Financial Times.
He is the author of The British Dream: Success and Failure in post-War immigration (Atlantic Books) which was shortlisted for the Paddy Power Political Book of the Year Award and the Orwell Prize.
His most recent book is The Road to Somewhere: The Populist Revolt and the Future of Politics (Hurst), which was one of the most talked about political books of 2017.
Head Hand Heart, his new book about the changes in the status and prestige of work in the last 50 years will be published by Penguin (UK) and Free Press (USA) in 2020.
